Oh to be sisters......

My daughters melt my heart everyday. Their innocence is so precious. If only I could memorize every moment and remember what they looked like at every stage. I can't but what I can do is embrace and enjoy our life as a family everyday.
It is amazing watching a sister relationship develop right before my eyes. Luna watches Zorianna constantly and I can already tell she wants to be with her and all about her. Luna is only 5 months old but those little girls already play together sooo cute. Zorianna always asks me if she can 'babysit" which means leaving them alone together in a room. They laugh and talk and sometimes even cry. Zorianna has told me "mom tell Luna to quit starring at me." - And so it begins!

August 2009

Though August was a very laid back month we had lot's of fun with the girls. Everyday is something new and exciting. Luna started rolling over two weeks ago! And she has given us a few little giggles. She makes silly sounds all the time and she loves to watch her big sis. Zorianna is ....hmmmm..... it's hard to put to words......sooooo funny. I know I always say that but she says and does funny things everyday. Even though she is in Luna's face all the time, she seems to really love her "poopoo diaper baby." She loves to play night night with Luna. The other day she was covering her up (this is in the middle of the living room and not at nap time) and laying animals and babies around her then all of a sudden "LUNA GO TO SLEEP NOW!" Wow she's a good little mamma! :)

BED HEAD!!!!

Wow Luna! That is some wild bed head! At 3 months old my little Luna is a show stopper. People (including strangers) cannot help stopping and commenting on her luscious  hair!!!

Yes I am 30 years old!!! Wow how time flies when you are having fun. We kept this birthday pretty uneventful - a small dinner at Grammies house and camping! We took the girls up to Vallecito Lake for some camping in the "choo choo" (campers remind Zorianna of trains). We camped for 3 nights and it went awesome considering the fact that one little girl is 3 months and one is 3 years old. Trent and Christina joined us for 2 of the nights.  We really did not do much just ate, played in the dirt, and played dominos. We did walk around the lake a little too.

Gone With the Wind!!!

We have been having a very fun laid back summer. Zorianna loves to drive her jeep and she is quit good at it. She has also been busy doing swimming lessons, doing "art projects" and doing tons of playing outside. And as I always say - she is always a comedian!!!
As for  Luna - she is sooooo cute and cuddly (as Zorianna says). She has found her little arms and hands. She tries to reach out and she is very good at locking her eyes on things (or us). She has found a very good sleeping pattern in the day and at night so we have been enjoying some regular sleep. And she still smile smile smiles!!!

June 2009

The second month of being a parent of two has been amazing. Luna is a very easy going baby and she smiles a lot. Her sleep cycles are getting to be a little more regular and she fits right in to our daily activities. Each day that goes by it seems easier and easier - like she has always been here. Zorianna LOVES her little sister. As a matter of fact she can't get enough of her - always touching her and in her face. Unfortunately she is not always that gentle. She seems a bit jealous but for the most part she is her same hilarious self.  She has taken this big change very very well. I am so proud of her!

May 9th 2009 Happy 3rd Birthday Zorianna

Oh my precious Zorianna -
though we did not have a big bash, we had big fun! We made a rice crispy cake and Zorianna decorated it all by herself. Just the four of us hung out and opened presents, sang happy birthday, and played played played. Zorianna loves the happy birthday song and likes to sing it to Luna.

WELCOME LUNA MARIE BURNS

Born April 26 2009
7lbs 9ozs 20 in.
11:02 a.m.
Luna came into this world without any complications, in the bath tub of our home.  It was an amazing experience to be the dad and be so involved in the delivery, I got to catch her and also cut the cord, an experience unlike any other.  Luna has been an amazing baby, she is currently sleeping about 3 hours at a time and zorianna is very excited to be a big sister.

Easter 2009

Zorianna loved decorating eggs, hunting eggs, but not eating eggs!

Camping in the Kitchen

Zorianna loves making beds for babies and bears so at 8:00 in the morning she informed me that she was setting up a Camp Ground in the kitchen. She packed her back pack and everything.

Zorianna is such a comedian. She LOVES "oatmilk" for breakfast and decided she wanted me to document her joy. So for about 8 mornings in a row she would sit and eat her oatmeal then look at me holding up her bowl and say "take a picture of me eating my oatmilk." And so I did - everytime.

We try to put Zorianna to bed around 8:30. We had put her to bed (in her bed ) but this is what we found at 10:30 on our way to bed. So, Mike picked her up and put her in her bed. She never woke up.
Wow, as sit here in my 34th week of pregnancy I can not believe how fast time is flying. Our new little addition is due April 29th and we do not know what it is. I cannot wait and our little Zorianna who will be three on May 9th is getting excited too. Though I do not really think she knows how our lives will be turned upside down.
